N376 near Rolde to close for maintenance and safer bends

The province of Drenthe is closing the N376 between the roundabout at the N33 and the one at Marwijksoord from Monday 21 September to Friday 9 October inclusive. During those weeks the asphalt will be maintained and the bends made safer.

The N33 slip roads at that roundabout will also close. Anyone driving to Nooitgedacht will only be able to enter the village via Borgerderstraat until 9 October, writes the Rolderpost, Rolde's village paper.

Through traffic will be diverted along other provincial roads via Gieten, with yellow signs along the route, and the province warns of longer journey times. According to the paper, local traffic can also take the back roads, via Nijlande and Klaassteenweg or via Hoornse Bulten; work on those two roads that the municipality of Aa en Hunze had already announced has been postponed.

Cyclists can still use the cycle path on the west side of the road, while the one on the east side will close for a new top layer. Traffic signs will also be changed.

People who live along the road will still be able to reach their homes, although this may at times be difficult while the asphalt is being laid; the contractor will then let residents know in advance. The province has made arrangements with the emergency services beforehand, so that they can reach the scene in time in an emergency.

The weather may still change the schedule. Residents with questions can contact the province's customer contact centre, the Klant Contact Centrum, on 0592 365 555.
