Residents can have a say in how the Boerbos is managed

The municipality of Aa en Hunze is drawing up a management plan for the Boerbos, a wood in Rolde, and is holding a drop-in meeting about it on Thursday 4 June with a walk through the wood. Anyone who wants to attend must register before Wednesday 27 May.

The Boerbos covers 18 hectares and is partly owned by the municipality. Through a project to draw up a management plan, it wants to make sure the wood keeps its value for recreation, nature, archaeology and cultural history.

The meeting starts at 1pm in De Boerhoorn, Rolde's community centre. The municipality will explain there how it is approaching the project and which steps will follow, how far residents can help shape the plan and the way it is carried out, and what can be expected in the long term. The participants will then go into the wood together to see what matters to the different groups who use it, and the afternoon ends back at De Boerhoorn.

To register, send your name and address to rosinga@aaenhunze.nl.
